eclectica, a weblog

Saturday, October 07, 2006

Sorry for the lack of updates here on electica; I've been super busy with my new podcast, Random Fandom. If you don't have time to listen to the show, check out the shownotes, because it's basically a blog, with tons of info.

Here is a player that will automatically play all of my Random Fandom shows, you can listen, or you can add this player to your own webite if it's more convenient.

Put my show and this player on your website or your social network.

I just had a cool idea which I posted at the Podcast Pickle Forum:

As a long time blogger (since 1999), I was fascinated when The BlogTree was put online. It allows you to register your blog, and specify which blog or blogs influenced you to start your own blog. It allows others to also claim you as a "blog parent," so you can see your own blog family tree, as well as others.

I think this sort of resource would translate well to create a podcasting family tree, I would love to know who influenced the people who influenced me to start my own podcast, Random Fandom.
It would also be cool to know if I influenced anyone to start their own podcast.

This would be an awesome feature for podcast pickle, and would fit perfectly with the site. Would anyone be interested in participating in a Podcast Family Tree project? I don't have the programming ability to set it up myself.

For an example of a blog family tree, check out the tree for my blog, eclectica.

For an example of a larger blog family tree, check out the metafilter family tree.
