Battle of the Bearded: Blunt vs Groban. That absolutely cracks me up! Why pit them against each other? Enjoy both, I say! Hee.

On a more serious note, being a fan of both James and Josh, I think it's inane to focus on their looks instead of their music. I've never actually seen James and only have an idea of what he looks like from what others have told me, so it irks me greatly when people assume I only like him for his looks. I've seen Josh, but the same goes for him, as well. I loved his music before I had any idea what he looked like.

I can't be a hypocrite and say that it doesn't affect me to know that they're attractive men. I'm only human, after all! However, I'd love their music and voices even if they looked like ogres. You can't deny talent.

Song of the moment: "Carry You Home," by James Blunt.

Eight years. That's how long eclectica has been online. When I first started the weblog in November 1999, I never imagined I would continue blogging for so long. It's quite cool and useful, I must say, to have a record of some of the things I was doing and looking at online during those years!

Speaking of having a record, I just updated the eclectica archives, so that they now are easily accessible. I'm also in the process of installing a new blogging system. Blogger has served me well for the past four years; but I'm ready to switch to something that's a bit more powerful. The new system should be up and running within a couple weeks, I think, as long as I devote the needed time to the installation and tweaking of the template to get it just as I want it.

Song of the moment: "No One," by Alicia Keys. Her performance of the song was the highlight of last night's American Music Awards. Most of the other performances were practically unlistenable, in my opinion. Oh, yeah, I've got to say, even though I'm definitely not a fan of Beyonce Knowles, I thought her duet of "Irreplaceable" with Sugarland was cool. Yay for mixing genres!

Here's a fun music meme I recently came across. It's amazing how some of the songs actually seem appropriate! (I've put asterisks next to the songs that seem apt to me.) My MP3 player doesn't hold my whole music collection at the moment, so I'm wondering how this would have turned out if it did.

Create Your Own Soundtrack - Instructions:
1. Open your music library or turn on your MP3 player.
2. Put it on shuffle mode.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the 'next' button.
6. Don't lie.
