I'll be back soon. Go play a game: Bejeweled, Alchemy, Pac-Man, Fling The Cow. Or go read about upcoming movies at UpComingMovies.com. Do whatever you want, because I'm not in the mood to update right now :)

I'm feeling lazy today. I don't think I'll update, so I'll send you along to another weblog: PhotoDude's Brain Dump and Pixel Pile. I just found it today and have enjoyed reading it.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous around here lately (If only it was like this year-round!), thus the lack of updates.

I could hardly believe that this was not an elaborate hoax or joke: CousinCouples.com, "The world's primary information and support network for and about romantic relationships among cousins." Eww!

The Virtual Freakshow. "...there is a conspiracy against freaks. You know what it is? It is the do-goodies and the liberals. They have taken away the fun and fantasy of the freak shows that these wonderful freakie people used to make their livings with. The goodie-two-shoes have destroyed their living." This is wrong. People with disablities need help. They deserve a better life than being gawked at can give them.

"Milton Mills...American!"
"There's is nothing AS INNOcent as a flower. UNless the flower is poison! I have SEen these poison flowers on Discovery CHannel. THEY ARE NOT INNOCENT! THEY WILL KILL A MAN!" Crazy funny. Heh.

Well, it seems someone has a crush on me, but no way am I going to sit there, racking my brain for the email addresses of all the people I know! Heh.

Utorials.com: A lot of sites like this are popping up. I wonder if they'll stay around very long...? Anyway, I created a tutorial on starting a weblog. Check it out.

More links later...

Happy St. Pat's Day, everyone! :)

For all you macabre jewelry fans: Human bone jewelery. Yuck.

My generation (Gen. Y? Ugh, I hate that phrase.) and Gen. X are so very lucky that we never had a major war to fight. CNN has an interesting feature: You put in your birthday and they tell you if you would have been drafted to go to Vietnam. I would have been! Well, if I'd been alive and been a guy, of course.

Museum of Hoaxes covers hoaxes from pre-1700's all the way to the present.

Someone irritating you? Well, now you can cast an online curse, anything from bad breath to alien abduction to stock market loss.

Rainbows as art. I wish they had some better pictures on the site. I'm sure the rainbows are stunningly beautiful.

Fire and Ice Photograhy: Some of the photos are breathtaking!

This song describes how I'm feeling almost exactly:
Hand In My Pocket, by Alanis Morissette

I'm broke but I'm happy
I'm poor but I'm kind
I'm short but I'm healthy, yeah
I'm high but I'm grounded
I'm sane but I'm overwhelmed
I'm lost but I'm hopeful baby
What it all comes down to
Is that everthing's gonna be fine fine fine
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a high five
I feel drunk but I'm sober
I'm young and I'm underpaid
I'm tired but I'm working, yeah
I care but I'm restless
I'm here but I'm really gone
I'm wrong and I'm sorry baby
What it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be quite alright
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other is flicking a cigarette
What is all comes down to
Is that I haven't got it all figured out just yet
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving the peace sign
I'm free but I'm focused
I'm green but I'm wise
I'm hard but I'm friendly baby
I'm sad but I'm laughing
I'm brave but I'm chicken shit
I'm sick but I'm pretty baby
What it all boils down to
Is that no one's really got it figured out just yet
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is playing the piano
What it all comes down to my friends
Is that everything's just fine fine fine
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is hailing a taxi cab...

PseudoDictionary.com. This is so cool: They take made up words, slang, webspeak and colloquialisms that people submit and add them to the "pseudodictionary." Example: "karenizing - An office worker act. Pretending that he /she is totally busy with office work but in fact, the person does not have a single project / work."

Since soon all members of the Army are going to be wearing black barets, the Army Rangers have asked to wear tan barets and their request has been granted: "...the Army had approved its request to change the regiment's beret color 'to maintain the distinctiveness of the unit and reflect the legacy of more than two centuries of Ranger history.'"

Lots of people are outraged that President Bush reneged on his promise on regulating carbon dioxide emmissions from power plants. Well, I'm not; yet not because he's a Republican or a conservative, but because he's a politician. Politicians lie to get where they want, then they go back on their promises. It's a well-known fact. Surprise, surprise.
[Thanks to Quiddity for the link]

This makes me sick: Britney Spears to be paid over $700,000 to write novel. It's so aggravating! She can't even sing and now she's getting paid to write? There are so many other deserving authors out there!

TV viewing leads to dementia: "'American researchers have found compelling new evidence that people who spend long hours in front of television are at increased risk of Alzheimer's disease.

Research published today suggests that adults with hobbies that exercise the brain - such as reading, jigsaw puzzles, chess or knitting - are two-and-a-half times less likely than others to have the disease.'"
Well, of course! Did we really need a study to tell us that using our brain is going to keep it healthier?

I archived the February entries and put up a new layout. I've been sick (Doesn't that word sound exactly what it feels like to be ill?) for the last few days, so I haven't had time to surf around much. Expect some links later on, though...

The :-( emoticon is trademarked. Really. Did you know? But the company who trademarked it has no intentions of keeping people from using the emoticon, although they did say that they were planning on suing everyone who has used or will use the emoticon in the future. It was all a practical joke. Too bad lots of people thought they were serious.

It seems that Disturbing Search Requests is getting famous.

Heh, the Bush Presidency countdown clock. As of March 9, 2001, we have 3 years, 10 months, and 13 days until we get a new president (unless G.W. is elected again, of course.)

What Historical Figure Do You Relate To?
My results:
# 1 Jesus Christ
# 2 Mohandas K. Ghandi
# 3 Muhammed
# 4 Abraham Lincoln
# 5 V.I. Lenin
# 6 Adolph Hitler
# 7 Augustus Caesar

I'm rather sure that they only used those 6 people when creating the test, so the results probably aren't very accurate. I don't mind relating to Jesus or Abraham Lincoln, but Hitler? No thank you! [Link via Neutral]

Chris Carter talks about his new show, The Lone Gunmen, an X-Files spin-off. I saw the premier episode Sunday night. It was actually not that bad, better than I was expecting. It has a lot of humor that left the X-Files after Mulder was abducted. (Scully just doesn't have the quick-witted repartee that Mulder did.)

Canadian to Set Up Napster Clone Offshore, from MP3Newswire. Good quote : "If Napster is Pandora's box, it was the RIAA that flung open it's top by bringing about a lawsuit so visible and public it served as a free advertisement enticing over 60 million people."

Ever wonder how old you were in dog years? Use the Dog Years Calculator to find out. I'm 2.86 years-old in dog years; if I were a dog, I'd be 140-years-old!

It seems like I should say something about the school shooting in Santee, California. But what else is there to say? It's extremely tragic and awful, but when I heard about it, I wasn't shocked in the least. School violence has become so widespread. I can only offer my sympathy to the families of the victims, but even that feels wrong: I can never know the grief that they are going through right now.

Vote for our (American) National Tree. I voted for the pine. I love the way they look and I love their fragrant needles. Too bad there aren't many pine trees in south Texas. I miss them!

Hey, now we all can look like Austin Powers (well, our teeth can look like his, anyway)

Well, the only good thing I can say about the man is that we share the same last name...

What Were They Thinking?! Ten shows that "embody the spirit of mediocrity," yet remained on the air for years. I'm only guilty of watching Full House (Hey, I was little!) and I have a few very vague memories of CHiPS.

Ok, no excuses really for the lack of updates, except a MP3 downloading frenzy (Soon we'll be saying, "Yeah, Napster...back in the day!" Heh), Alchemy, and really beautiful weather (I'm not such a technophile that I'd pass up a wonderful day in the sun to the computer's glow.)

Recently downloaded MP3s:
Duck and Run, 3 Doors Down
My Town, Buck O' Nine
Glowing Soul, Candlebox
Far Behind, Candlebox
Hunter, Dido
Drive, Incubus
Popular, Nada Surf
I'm like a Bird, Nelly Furtado
Barely Breathing, Duncan Sheik
Hands, Jewel
You Were Meant For Me, Jewel
The Happy Song, The Nixons
Telling Stories, Tracy Chapman

Guilty Pleasures (AKA songs I usually don't admit to liking) :
This Is Your Night, amber
I Love You Always Forever, donna lewis
I Believe I can Fly, R. Kelly
Truly Madly Deeply, Savage Garden

I know, my musical taste doesn't run in the exactly rare genre; but you can't exactly blame me: indie music is hard to come by in southern most Texas, at least I'm not listening to Garth Brooks! Heh ;)

Speaking of music, this site allows you to find the #1 song in the USA and the UK on the day you were born. It's rather nifty; but why, oh, why did Woman In Love, by Barbra Streisand have to be #1 on the day I was born?!

I've been looking for quite a lot of lyrics lately, due to my MP3 downloading session, and have found that Lyrix Engine is rather useful. Don't go there looking for really unknown band's lyrics -- you won't find them. (Don't let the picture of Christina Aguilera scare you away! Heh ;)

Well, that wasn't much for an update, but I haven't been surfing a lot lately. I'll be back with more soon, though! :)
