[ACLU Execution Watch Counter]

Are you annoyed, disgruntled, ready for payback? Well, then, you might want to check out Revenge Unlimited. You can send a dozen dead roses; or even worse, just the stems of a dozen roses; maybe you want something even more nasty: try some fart spray to smell up your object of revenge's car. (These are supposed to be pranks or practical jokes, but they just seem mean-hearted to me.)

Seattle just had a 7.0 earthquake this morning! Here's a first person account of the earthquake that I happened across.

How Much is Inside...A Bag of Doritos, A Box of Cheerios, A Can of Whipped Cream? Heh, the pictures are the best!

I think I've linked to this site before, but I think it deserves a re-link: HowStuffWorks.com. It's very comprehensive!

Toonpedia: "A Vast Repository of Toonological Knowledge." They have quite a lot of "toons" listed, but where are the Smurfs or Ren and Stimpy? Yeah, I'm still a kid at heart :)

I love useful sites. This one definitely is: The Australia Skeptics are "Investigating pseudo-science and the paranormal from a responsible scientific viewpoint."

You may have heard of the SETI project which allows you to use your computer's processing power to help search for extra-terrestial life. Entropia is a simular program, except that you're using your computer's processing power to help medical researchers, protect the environment, or explore the limits of human knowledge.

Eeep, I know, I haven't updated in a while. I can only blame it on The Sims -- that game is addictive! ;)

SheFilms.org: Short films directed solely by teenage girls. Set to officially open March 1st.

It's time the world took notice that introverts are not freaks of nature: An Introverts Lexicon.

I haven't surfed much lately, yet I found the time to make a new layout. Weird, huh? Well, anyway, I'll post some links later.

Heh heh:What a night Sooty had!

Yes, they're just chickens, but there is something wrong about what the Dallas city does with the chicks once they're not "cute" anymore; and they're thinking of expanding to guinea pigs, mice, rats, rabbits, and quail! How would we like it if we were gassed to death after we turned 3? I understand if the animals are used for food for other animals, but if they're just tossed into the trash, something needs to be done. Reading things like that makes me really truly consider becoming a vegetarian.

Timothy McVeigh, the "Oklahoma City Bomber," did not ask for clemency from President Bush. Here's a quote from his attorney, Rob Nigh Jr: "even if relief were granted, Mr. McVeigh does not believe he would be in a better position. Having nothing to look forward to but solitary confinement in a Bureau of Prisons facility does not appeal to Mr. McVeigh." This is one reason I don't believe in captial punishment: He's getting out the easy way. He does not want to be in prison the rest of his life, he'd rather die. Well, then, I say make him live; obviously it's worse punishment than death.

A bellybutton fetishist? Heh.

I love stuff like this: ASCII generator.

Some people seem to think that we didn't go to the moon in 1969. Rather interesting, makes you think, anyway.

TV-ULTRA finds the best shows every day. Nice.

Tired of sending those regular e-cards? Then check out Blue Mountain's Wacky e-cards! March 9th is panic day. Heh. But I like March 26th the best: It's Make Your Own Holiday day! :)

Want to rent a movie but can't think of one? The U.S. National Film Registry can help you with that: The U.S NFR was established in 1988 to "preserve film deemed 'culturally, historically, or esthetically important'". Every year they select 25 movies to be added to the registery.

Breakthrough Books: "In every issue of LF we ask the experts to recommend the breakthrough books in their field, those books that have defined a particular area of thought." Ah, I love sites like this!

Tempter's Island. Yikes, that's actually kind of scary. (I've never liked Temptation Island.)

Yes, it's for a good cause, but I find it kind of creepy: Celebrity "Kisses" up for auction on eBay. Why would anyone want to have the lipstick prints of a celebrity?

This is so sad: Found Diary.

An Interview with Jason of Lifehouse, at HipOnline. If you haven't listened any of Lifehouse's music, I encourage you to do so! They're one of my favorite bands. You can get a free MP3 of their song, Hanging By A Moment, on Dreamworks Records # 2 sampler.

Smartgroups.com is a great alternative to the new Yahoo! Groups. There aren't that many groups there yet, as it's a new service (I think), but I'm sure as more people become dissatisfied with Yahoo! Groups, they'll flock to Smart Groups.

Geneva is a nice, simple font.

MP3.com is giving away another addition to their free MP3 CDs. I've received about 3 of them and they're usually rather good.

I watched Fight Club for the second time on Sunday night. Remember the part where Brad Pitt -- er, Tyler Durden -- was working as a projectionist at the theater and would splice pornographic images into the family films? Well, they actually did that at the end of the movie. I kid you not. If you have a slow-motion feature on your VCR, watch the last few seconds of the movie, the part where Jack and Marla are holding hands while the buildings around them implode, and you'll see what I mean. I liked Fight Club when I saw it the first time, mostly because of the surpise ending; but now, every time I think of it, I get a disgusted feeling. I don't think I'll watch it again.

Currently, Maralyn Removes Her Teeth is going for $51.00!

I've been surfing the last few days, I just didn't take the time to 'blog it all. So, here's what I've found over the last week:

Final Meal Requests of Texas Death Row Inmates. This site makes me sad and nauseous; not just because I think capital punishment is barbaric, but because of what those people did to receive the death penalty, and because I don't understand how they can even bare the thought of eating just hours (or minutes) before they're going to die.

Speaking of prison, more and more children and teens are being sent to adult prisons, often for miniscule infractions. This doesn't help rehabilitate them; in fact, they're likely to committ more serious crimes once released.

He hasn't spoken for almost 5 months! Yes, you read that right: Brett Banfe of Haddonfield, New Jersey hasn't spoken a word since September 1, 2000.

The "It" Question. So, what is "It"? No one can seem to find out, and Dean Kamen, "It's" inventor sure isn't telling.

Oh, pluh-leeze. They expect respect? They're not getting any from me, that's for sure! Heh.

The Spark is 86% sure that I'm a chick, from the answers I've submitted to their gender test; which means 14% of the time I selected a soi-disant "male" answer.

Well, i guess someone might want to see this. Not me, though! Heh.

By now, I'm sure most of you have heard of the customer in Kentucky who paid for their Dairy Queen order with a $200 bill, but have you seen pictures of both sides of the bill?

Things: "A journal of writings about objects, their pasts, presents and futures." Very interesting. Willa, of Mood Swings, had this article about the Sims published in it.

I have a distinct dislike for clowns. I'm not sure why, they just grate on my nerves. Maybe it's because they're so happy all the time? It seems that others agree with me: IHateClowns.com & 34 Reasons You Should Hate Clowns, Too.

White trash chic? Heh.

Pretend you're in prison and make a license plate. It's not useful for anything, but it is entertaining :)

New layout. If you don't have the font Georgia on installed on your computer, go to Microsoft's TrueType Core Fonts and download it, please. Download all of them, if you want. It's useful to have all of them installed on your computer, because most people design with those fonts in mind.

Links later, I promise :) Thanks to everyone who has signed my guestbook! I love hearing from you.

I recently discovered Moveo.com, a site that allows you to create a personal portal. Since I've already created a portal, I didn't make a new one; but if you've never created a portal before, or don't want to mess with HTML and FTP, you'd certainly find Moveo useful.

While surfing Diary-X, I came across a link to Buster Cafe. The site is still in the works -- in fact, the title bar says "Coming December 2000!" But once the site goes online, it looks as if it could be promising. Here are a few of the features they say they are going to be offering (quoted directly from the site):

  • You'll be able to take classes to improve your journal, learn html, and many other things.
  • You'll be able to read books and talk and write about them with small groups of people who're also interested in what you're interested in.
  • You'll be able to publish your work, and critique the work of others.
  • You'll have an opportunity to teach courses that you have exceptional knowledge or ability in.
  • You'll have a reference to the history of fiction, as well as a way to participate in building it.

Taquitos.net: For all your junkfood needs. By the way, taquitos are not junkfood. They're most often made with eggs, potatoes, and some sort of meat (most often barbacoa, a fajita-like meat).

I'd love to 'blog more, but I'm using my brother's computer and he's kicking me offline.

I thought I wasn't going to, but I did: I caved in and watched Survivor 2 last night. I pretty much watched all the episodes from the first show, and was disappointed with the last episode. I decided not to watch the second show. So much for that decision ;)

I already have some likes and dislikes: Jerri grates on my nerves, as does Jeff. If both of them were voted off their respective tribes next, I'd be happy. As for the people I like, so far I've only decided on Rodger.

Ok, enough of that! Here's a quote I found the other day and really like:
"The camera is like a vampire. When it fixes its gaze on a subject, it drains that subject of flesh and blood. It reduces the subject to a shadow. And the shadow becomes immortal, outliving the subject." - Director Elias Merhige, as quoted in the Dallas Morning News

Emode is just too much fun. Heh. I took the Flavor Test and here are my results (They're rather accurate) :

Your flavor is Mocha
Mmm ... mocha! Strong and rich — but not too sweet — you're the flavor of late nights and early mornings. A coffeehouse regular, you've cornered the market on deep thoughts and probably have a little more than your fair share of brains. In fact, those who know you may even consider you an intellectual, a label that suits you just fine. Deep and thoughtful, you love the academic — or at least the structured pursuit of knowledge. And, since hitting the books often means all-nighters, what better flavor than mocha to keep you company? Chocolaty and intense, you're a truly tasty treat.

Heh, now you can see what's in the stars for Fido or Fluffy: Pet Astrology.

Now I must be off to work. I should be 'blogging more in the next few days.
